Science is in my opinion one of the hardest classes to understand at times. But I still manage to understand information talked about in class. But it's still a great class and I like it. In Science, I have an A and I get my labs and notes turned in on time. In this class, we do lots of labs, readings, and reviews to understand the current unit I am on. The lab depends on what kind of unit we're currently on.
The things we review in science are life, energy, ecology, and even astronomy. And just to help us review these things, we even take Cornell notes to help us understand the basics of these lessons. Then, we usually take labs to demonstrate how some of these things work by doing a lab experiment. The paper on the left shows the grade rubric I got for a lab I've recently done. In a lab, we record data by doing 3 trials and then calculating the average, and we also state a hypothesis to predict what's going to happen to the manipulated variable, or the thing that's being changed in a lab. After that, we state a conclusion to write if our hypothesis was correct or not. That is how we do a lab in Science.
At the end of each unit, we take a test to recap what we know about each unit. For me, it's usually easier to do the tests than the readings that need to be done. But do well on the tests, depending on the unit. Normally, tests are on Friday and we get Thursday to review what we've done, but it can be on a different day at times. On Monday, once everyone in class has finished the test or quiz, we sometimes switch papers with someone and correct the test. The tests occasionally have true or false statements, multiple choice, and mostly questions where you have to explain how something works.
